Ion Manole: Chisinau should not count on the elections from the Transnistrian region
It would be immature for Chisinau to hope for some changes after the so-called presidential elections from the Transnistrian region in December – chairman of Promo-LEX Association, Ion Manole declared for TRIBUNA.
In his opinion, “Mosocw has its own plans, strategies and actions, which it carries out in the Transnistrian region”, and Chisinau needs to take this into account. He, though, avoided to give a direct answer to the question if Anatol Kaminski, speaker of the Supreme Soviet from Tiraspol, may be Russia’s new stake in Transnistria.
Asked if a better result is possible in the new round of negotiations in the 5+2 format, which will take place on September 22 in Moscow, the chairman of Promo-Lex Association declared that one cannot speak of good results as long as no improvement in the living standards and human rights situation will not be registered in the region.
“As long as Ilie Caza remains in the so-called prison in the region; as long as the population from the left bank of Nistru river and even on the right bank is not respected the right to freedom of movement; as long as the many cases and phenomenon of human rights violations continue every day we cannot speak of any success in these negotiations”, Ion Manole concluded.
